Rev. Michelle's Message July 27, 2023

As many of you know, last Friday night I took Alexander to the ER at CHOMP because he was complaining of abdominal pain, fever, and chills. Within less than two hours of arriving at the hospital, I was being told that my baby had appendicitis and would be prepped immediately for surgery that very evening.

I think it’s safe to say that day was one of the scariest I have experienced. However, through it all, I felt the loving support of all of your prayers, and for that I want to thank you.

Alexander came through the surgery just fine and was discharged the next day. This week, we’ve been laying low and resting, and he is recovering quite nicely.

I am feeling pretty grateful for modern medicine right about now, as well as for my mama’s instinct that told me something wasn’t right and I should take him to the hospital. If we had waited, his appendicitis would have likely worsened and of course the appendix could have ruptured, creating a much more dangerous situation. We caught it early and as a result my baby is safe and sound.

These types of experiences often make us reflect on various things, and I’ve had some insights which I will share with you during this Sunday’s lesson on Unity’s Fourth Principle: Prayer.

Again, I deeply appreciate all who have reached out to show their concern and all who held the high watch for us during this stressful and frightening experience. Your prayers helped me and my family make it through.

Many Blessings,

Rev. Michelle
