I’m still reveling in the joy of our Music-Centric service last Sunday. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as Denise and I enjoyed preparing and sharing it with all of you. And it couldn’t have happened as it did, of course, without our wonderful choir, the community singing, and Michelle and Denise’s wonderful duet to bring it all together – with “Thanks for the Music” – a most appropriate finale.

I think music is also a perfect example of what we’re going to be talking about this Sunday – in that it intertwines our bodily senses, our emotions, our thoughts, our imagination, and our spirituality – giving us a sense of Wholeness AND Oneness even as we feel the need to tap our toes and clap our hands.

This idea of Embodiment has been showing up in my life on a regular basis over the past few months…and is becoming a focal point of my current spiritual evolution – initiated with Cynthia Bourgeault's Aging Consciously class; informed by my Chair Yoga practice (and the strength training I’ve added); and further inspired by various articles and blogs that continue to come into awareness, largely by landing in my email box.

And so in my “teaching what I most need to learn” mode of ministry – I’m looking forward to exploring how we might more fully embrace our Wholeness by (paraphrasing Karden Rabin) expanding our self-awareness to include the felt experiences of our bodies, and incorporating that information into our overall conception and conduct of ourselves, our identity, beliefs, behaviors, and ways of being…the Both – And – And – And Ways of Being.

I hope you’ll join us!

Blessings, Rev. Vicky
