Hello Beloved CommUnity! As you have heard by now, I had another bout of pneumonia about two and a half weeks ago, which was treated with antibiotics, but then developed into acute bronchitis. But for a few exceptions, I have basically been in bed for over two weeks now, just resting, recuperating, and trying to get better. I am, indeed, on the mend and look forward to being with you all this Sunday. I bet you won’t be surprised to know that I have some things I’d like to share with you about the whole experience, which I will do during our Sunday lesson, Breath of Life, Breath of Love.
As you can imagine, I was quite surprised, not to mention concerned, about having a second bout of pneumonia a mere five months after my last one in March. I am doing everything I can do to recover and to find out if there is any underlying condition causing my recurrent pneumonia.
I have been doing lots of breathwork, prayer, and meditation, as well as learning about the lungs and what they represent somatically and metaphysically. I have also been thinking a lot about spiritual healing and how our own Unity Co-Founder, Myrtle Fillmore, healed herself of tuberculosis (also a lung disease) almost 150 years ago, thus launching our Unity movement. I have much to share with you this Sunday and cannot wait to be back at church!
Thank you for all of your prayers, emails, cards, and texts while I’ve been home sick. When you’re stuck in bed for weeks at a time, that connection with others is so important and means so very much. I know that your love and good wishes have all helped me heal.
Healthful Blessings,
Rev. Michelle
