I invite you to reflect on your own personal prayer practice for a moment…
Is it as consistent as you would like? Is it a robust practice that meets your needs? Would you like to enhance your prayer practice and learn new ways to pray?
Prayer is such an important part of our spiritual growth and development. And yet many of us struggle with maintaining a consistent prayer practice. We may also find that we wonder how we should pray. Many of us want to create a close, loving relationship with Spirit, supported by a daily prayer practice, but we aren’t sure how to go about it.
I have long been fascinated by the topic of prayer even as I have struggled with prayer in my own life. I am curious about how people in different cultures and different religions pray, and I love learning about the different and unique ways people pray around the world. My interest in prayer has led me to explore and try out many different prayer practices over the years. The more I expand my own prayer repertoire, the more ways I find to strengthen my connection with the divine.
This week I would like to share some of those practices with you, in the hope that it will help you to expand your own prayer repertoire and find ways to pray that are effective and deeply meaningful to you. In case you are interested, I will be drawing from a book called, 50 Ways to Pray: Practices from Many Traditions and Times by Teresa A. Blythe, available on Amazon.
I look forward to building our own prayer toolbox together!
Prayerful Blessings,
Rev. Michelle
